Matchup Methodology

Each player is assigned an archetype (e.g. Pocket Passer, Receiving Back) that determines how different parts of a defense affect their matchup. The opposing defense's grades* are weighted using the values below, and the results are normalized from red (tough) to green (easy).

QB

  • Pocket Passer: IDL 25%, EDGE 25%, LB 10%, CB 25%, SAF 15%
  • Dual Threat: IDL 15%, EDGE 25%, LB 30%, CB 15%, SAF 15%
  • Balanced QB: IDL 20%, EDGE 25%, LB 20%, CB 20%, SAF 15%

RB

  • Rushing Back: IDL 35%, EDGE 20%, LB 30%, CB 0%, SAF 15%
  • Receiving Back: IDL 10%, EDGE 10%, LB 40%, CB 5%, SAF 35%
  • All-Purpose Back: IDL 30%, EDGE 20%, LB 35%, CB 0%, SAF 15%

WR

  • All Wide Receivers: IDL 0%, EDGE 0%, LB 0%, CB 75%, SAF 25%
